This book clutch is adapted from the 1897 British first edition of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, published in Westminster by Archibald Constable and Company. The original volume appeared in striking yellow cloth (also avalible in yellow) , its cover reduced to a thin ruled border and the stark red lettering of DRACULA and Bram Stoker-a remarkably severe design for a novel that would become one of the defining works of Gothic literature.

Our edition preserves the composition and typography of that historic 1897 binding while transforming its original yellow ground into deep black. The original crimson-red lettering remains, emerging dramatically against the dark surface and giving the famously restrained Victorian cover a new, nocturnal character.
